An interrogation on femininity in its intimate flesh: the artist has sublimated her personal experience of illness as a means of artistic exploration, perhaps in an attempt to escape the objectification of the body and reintroduce a subjective narrative where protocols can seem to transform the patient into a secondary resident of their own illness?<\/p><p>The aesthetics of the intimate experience thus joins the universal myth of the Amazons who mutilated their right breast to fulfill their destiny as archers warriors. Throughout Prune Nourry\u2019s work, the relationship to the body, especially the female body, is tirelessly questioned. Art becomes a different way of apprehending anthropological developments that highlight the structures of our contemporary civilizations, in their mutations and paradoxes.
