Kornel Zezula, an exhibition of his works at the Art Loft.
As summer approaches and with it a breath of liberating freedom, the Hatchikian gallery presents, from May 7 to June 7, 2021, the artist’s sensual works. Kornel Zezula. Set up for the occasion, the Art Loft located at 4 rue du docteur Blanche, 75016 Paris is a showcase that reveals all the beauty and finesse of the painter’s work, whose works are executed in oil on canvas.
Artistic path and practice.
Kornel Zezula was born in 1991 in Wroclaw, where he studied fine arts. A childhood nurtured by a Francophile culture shaped his dream of a life as an artist in Paris, immersed in the richness of all aspects of culture. At the School of Fine Arts in Paris, where he was admitted through an entrance exam, Kornel Zezula It begins to transform the dream into an artistic path that asserts itself and becomes unique.
Painting is his language; for the artist it is the language of the inexpressible emotions. For that is precisely what interests him. Kornel Zezula What does the other he meets feel? What is their story? He paints this other tirelessly, in search of those fleeting and elusive emotions, always multiple, paradoxical and contradictory, sometimes familiar or foreign. The artist doesn’t know. He paints. And only later understands. That is the whole strength of painting. He paints in the manner of a filmmaker: he places the frame, the light, and captures a scene in close-up on a body, a face – always a meeting – an ephemeral expression in the thread of a story, a fragment of being in the moment that contains the vertigo of a past and a possible future.
A narrative figure?
The figuration, in the work of Kornel Zezula, is not a representation but a meaningful narrative whose evocative power lies in the sensuality of the artistic gesture, corporeal and tactile, unfolding like a choreography of lines and colors of the gravitation of emotions. Although Kornel Zezula’s portraits capture a fleeting expression, it is not a truth but a question, a fragment of being in the moment that contains the whole vertigo of a past and a possible future. In this sense, one can find in the painting of Kornel Zezula the influence of major figures of the narrative figuration movement such as Gérard Schlosser and Jacques Monory.
In a refined setting designed by Audrey Hatchikian, you will have every opportunity to immerse yourself in the magnificent work of this young artist with great promise for the future. The Art Loft and the entire team of the gallery welcome you by appointment from May 7 to June 7, 2021.
