CAROLINE DERVEAUX

(1989)
© Marion Saupin

Navigating between painting on canvases and frescoes in monumental formats, Caroline combines vivid colors with a geometric language, and translates her emotions, encounters, and struggles through abstract translation.

In her frescoes and canvases, Caroline Derveaux paints in a geometric and abstract style, using flat color planes. However, upon closer inspection, her works are landscapes and portraits, blending architectural and organic forms that open up to three-dimensional universes and invitations to travel, escapades in search of memories, beauty, and harmony.

The themes that interest him are manifold and one can find in his work his research related to the representation of the female and the living, the narration of dreams, memories and the unconscious, introspective journeys and the channels of perception. All this is presented in an innocent form of graphic games.

Known for her dual practice of painting on canvas and her work as a muralist in monumental formats in public spaces, Caroline Derveaux creates works that engage in dialogue with their surroundings and innocently translate her emotions and visions through a language of vivid and geometric colors.
