Kornel Zezula, an exhibition of works at Art Loft.

With summer approaching and, with it, a breath of saving freedom, the Hatchikian gallery presents, from May 7 to June 7, 2021, the artist's sensual works. Kornel Zezula. Staged for the occasion, the Art Loft located at 4 rue du Docteur Blanche, 75016 Paris is a setting that reveals all the beauty and finesse of the painter's work, whose works are done in oil on canvas.

Course and artistic practice.

Kornel Zezula was born in 1991 in Wroclaw where he studied Fine Arts. A childhood nurtured by a Francophile culture forged the dream of an artist's life in Paris, immersed in the richness of all dimensions of culture. At the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he was admitted by competitive examination, Kornel Zezula begins to transform the dream into an artistic journey that asserts itself and stands out.

Painting is his language; for the artist it is the language of the unspeakable of emotions. Because that is precisely what interests Kornel Zezula : what does the other person he meets feel, what is his story? He paints this other, tirelessly, in search of these fleeting and elusive emotions, always plural, paradoxical and contradictory, sometimes familiar or even foreign. The artist does not know. he paints. And understand after the fact. This is the strength of painting. He paints like a filmmaker: he places the frame, the light, and captures a close-up scene on a body, a face - always a meeting - an ephemeral expression in the course of a story, a fragment of 'to be in the moment which contains all the vertigo of a past and a possible future.

A narrative figuration?

Figuration, in the work of Kornel Zezula, is not a representation but a meaningful narration whose evocative power derives from the sensuality of the artistic, carnal and tactile gesture, unfolding like a choreography in lines and colors of the gravitation of emotions. If Kornel Zezula's portraits capture an ephemeral expression, it is not a truth but a question, a fragment of being in the moment that contains all the vertigo of a past and a possible future. It is in this that we can find in the painting of Kornel Zezula the influence of big names in the narrative figuration movement such as Gérard Schlosser or Jacques Monory.

In a refined scenography, designed by Audrey Hatchikian, you will have plenty of time to immerse yourself in the formidable work of this young artist with a promising future. The Art Loft and the entire gallery team welcome you by appointment from May 7 to June 7, 2021.
