John Matos aka Crash, was born in the Bronx on October 11, 1961. Major protagonist of the “Aerosol Revolution”.

He began to paint very young on New York trains before practicing on canvases. He joined the Sidney Janis gallery in 1983 before making his entry into the world's largest collections at MOMA in New York at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.

He appeared to the general public by co-producing with Keith Haring the advertising campaign, Peter Stuyvesant.

In a style close to comics, always with flamboyant colors specific to advertising, it asserts itself as a pure phenomenon of the contemporary world.

It is part of the perfect lineage of Pop Art and once again brings the presumed subculture of “Graffiti” to the fore.
