Hatchikian Gallery and Maison de Production d'Art Quai 36 continue their collaboration to present the work of Vincent Abadie Hafez aka Zepha, whose work explores the aesthetic amplitude of the calligraphic letter in a singular visual language that honors the memorial source of text, way of transmitting the writing of the story of humanity, while freely appropriating, through the vitality of lines, curves, shapes and colors, a mixed graphic poetry that transcends cultures and updates this link that places us in the temporality of a common world. The artist alternates interventions in public space at the invitation of institutions and festivals – he was recently present at Urban Week Paris La Défense for a monumental fresco or at the Racines festival in Brussels – and work on canvas and other media. in workshop. The Mucem Marseille recently acquired one of his works which will now appear in the museum's collections.

A second phase of the exhibition event entitled Art Habité, the artist's solo show, opens this fall with the unveiling of Part II, to be discovered from October 20, 2022 to January 5, 2023 at Espace Quai 36 within of the new cultural center of the Fiminco Foundation in Romainville, an artistic destination in the east of Paris.

The first part of the Art Habité exhibition, which ended in September, presented a series of works deploying the aesthetics of the calligraphic line, both as a sign and a signifier, in clean lines and shapes in shades of sober colors. , and imprints of the long time of transmission enriched by creative indiscipline.

For the second sequence of the exhibition, Art Habité Part II, Vincent Abadie Hafez worked on a different temporal reference: that of the fulgurance of the compressed time of graffiti, with works on canvas of a more marked density, radiating energy of color and shapes in motion, especially around the circle that connects. In this series, the calligraphies draw architectures of lines or silhouettes that can be guessed, between abstraction and stylized figures. During the opening, on October 20 from 18 p.m. to 21 p.m. at Espace Quai 36, the artist will be present for a meeting and discussions.

At a time when language is being codified and tending to become functional, the calligraphic poetry of Vincent Abadie Hafez, from which the words of a visual dialogue burst forth, rejoices in a cosmopolitan universe of multiple meanings, ambiguities, shades, and a graphic beauty that promises to be a resistance based on what the common roots that inhabit us offer us freedom: the art of inhabiting the world.

Hatchikian Gallery and Quai 36 combine their perspectives for a collaboration that honors artists who combine mural interventions and studio work, in a resolutely contemporary approach that interweaves the rebellious indiscipline coming from urban art and tense pictorial research. towards abstraction.
