The exhibition Projections brings together three internationally renowned artists, Nelio, Chazme and Zabala, whose work questions our way of inhabiting a world in search of meaning. These three artists first emerged as muralists and share a common interest in giving rhythm to space, depth to perspectives, by playing with the volumes of the supports to recreate lines, visual horizons or abysses. Their artistic approach now takes place in the studio, through a pictorial research on canvas that places us face to stunning formal and chromatic universes, all of which stand out as remarkable colorists.
Nelio works on series of evolving works that coexist the antagonistic propositions of formal minimalism and abstract expressionism, exploring the nuances of form and color.
Chazme employs a formal abstraction inspired by urban geometries and nuanced chromaticism that opens up a metaphorical perspective on hypnotic labyrinths and postmodern detours.
In his work, Zabala captures the materiality of the world, which he confronts with the movement of natural elements through pictorial realism, which forms the guiding line of his work.
The works of three artists whose aesthetic research breaks down the categorical landscape of art are juxtaposed in an original scenography that highlights the obvious or more imperceptible echo of their work. The Projections group show thus brings together Nelio, Chazme and Zabala for an exciting artistic conversation.
