#MAKEOURPLANETGREENAGAIN: the exhibition by Chris Morin Eitner
Chris Morin Eitner is a photographer who gives us a glimpse of the idea of an alternative world, free of human presence, where nature has reclaimed its rights. Through his photographs, he seeks to question ultra-liberalism, global warming and humanity’s responsibility for it.
Who is Chris Morin Eitner?
Chris Morin-Eitner is a French photographer who has exhibited his work in Paris. His distinctive creations are hybrid compositions, representations of famous cities and emblematic places saturated with nature – vineyards, plants and animals fill otherwise abandoned urban sites. On the other hand, he leads a photographic project that seeks to explore and protest against the censorship of the classic female nude. Passionate about his studies in architecture from which he graduated, Chris Morin-Eitner has traveled extensively. The revelation comes during his encounter with the temple of Angkor whose ruins, beautiful with their vines and roots caressing the stones, are a place of life and freedom for the monkeys. So he starts imagining the spaces of our civilization where full powers would be returned to Nature, the world seen upside down, where Man is physically absent, whose traces of existence will only be certain of his artistic creations, those of street art and those architectural. Chris Morin-Eitner is playful and at the heart of these photo-montages revealing a rediscovered peace; in the details lies an intrigue to be deciphered: the power of the artist to create his own universe, the freedom of his imagination. Take a closer look. What is the London building in the background of the Arc de Triomphe? And that paradise flower in New York? Will you recognize which animal is hiding in the shadow at the Molitor swimming pool?
"Once upon a time there was tomorrow"
Here is the title of the creative project led by the artist Chris Morin-Eitner, which imagines metropolises in the aftermath of global warming. Apocalyptic images in which nature has reclaimed its rights and which we wanted to share with you with the result on the city of Paris. If humans disappeared overnight, vegetation and animals would not be long in slowly taking over the place. So much so that our dear capital would almost be unrecognizable; as you will see in the photographs of the exhibition, only the key landmarks still allow us to distinguish the signature of the photographed city. Dystopian photographs that offer us another vision of the capital in the form of a tropical jungle. From the district of La Défense to the Arc de Triomphe, through the Moulin-Rouge, discover below the visions of the artist Chris Morin-Eitner.
